It might sometimes seem as if everybody is looking cooler than you and knows how to dress while you think you look like a clown.
I think that when it comes to style and fashion, anything could work as long as you really mean it. I think it’s very important to own any style you decide to have and believe in it 100%.
Of course some styles are more popular and hip than others, but being different will work even better than fitting in. I think you could be dressed with the strangest clothes and still attract interest and wonder as long as you believe in the way you dress and don’t make an excuse of it.
What you’ll find funny is that as soon as you start wearing a piece of clothe or jewelry that stands out, you’ll get random girls coming to talk to you about it. Girls use that simply as an excuse to come and talk with you. Do you really think that they would come and talk to you just for your crazy necklace if they think you’re absolutely repulsive? Help girls get an excuse to come and talk to you by having a piece of something on you that stands out.
Also try to stay congruent with your life’s interests and activities. Either you’re a metal head, a hippie, a business man, a student, a frequent traveller or an athlete, dress accordingly. The importance here is that girls will already have an idea of what you are all about, and by having a style they’ll know that you’re at least all about something. Being a generic guy with nothing standing out of him and without strong preferences is really boring for most people.
More general guidelines would be to try to have matching colors, keeping it somewhat simple with small touches of extravagance and choosing clothes that will complement your shape.
Own your style, believe in it and don’t let anybody tell you that you look like a goof and you’re well on your way for great surprises!
